Literary Journal

 

The student literary journal at SCAD, Artemis, is surprisingly absent of interior artwork. For this project we were tasked with creating a theme and redesigning the interior of the book. Rather than selecting entries on food or art and basing my theme around that, I instead focused on something that all forms of literature would have in common. Writers try to allure the senses—see, touch, hear, taste, and smell. This is the common thread among all literature and my design inspiration, texture. Visually intriguing while implying a sense of tactility, photographic texture is used throughout this book to to emphasize an environment established by each writer.
